Believe it or not, we are almost nearing the end of another year in gaming. What I initially believed to be a backlog year turned out to be another beefy slog of incredible games. Despite how you feel about trailers at The Game Awards, there are some highly anticipated titles that have yet to be announced. What announcements do you predict will occur this year at The Game Awards?
My first would be Resident Evil IX. Capcom is already riding an excellent wave of success with previous Resident Evil remakes, and while their primary focus is Monster Hunter Wilds, it is very possible for them to introduce a title card. If Capcom does announce Resident Evil IX, I don’t expect much detail, maybe the year of release at most, but there certainly has been enough rumors to semi-expect news in the not-too-distance future.
I am fairly certain that Hideo Kojima will also swing by with either more information on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and/or the project he’s collaborating with Jordan Peele. OD.
Speaking of Kojima, or lack thereof, I believe we will finally have answers to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, including a gameplay trailer and release date (shadow drop maybe).
Lastly, what I don’t expect to see is the Nintendo Switch successor announcement. Yes, it’s coming. Very soon. The announcement still is expected before the end of the fiscal year; however, I still hold firm that Nintendo wouldn’t launch their campaign for the next console at The Game Awards–no offence, Geoff Keighly.
