After scaling up Holy Mount Lanayru, you tackle Lanayru Temple filled with challenging puzzles. At the end, you are met by Skorchill, and you can accurately guess by the name the gimmick to this boss fight. Here are some tips on how to take Skorchill down.
Note: Locations to find the referenced Echos are at the bottom of the article.
The primary gimmick is Skorchill’s helmet. He is vulnerable when they glow either blue or red, which correlates to the type of attacks he uses. He will start off with blue, which means…ice.
- Skorchill attacks include summoning ice crystals crashing around, spinning around the arena like a hockey puck, and slamming his fists/stomping into the ground.

- Keep moving to avoid the ice crystals or spin attack.
- After spinning, he will be dizzy when done, so take a moment to get a strike or two in.
- Whenever his helmet emits those blue horns, summon any aerial fire Echo.
- Recommended Echos: Fire Wizzrobe or Fire Keese.
- Once the ice horns are destroyed, you can whale on Skorchill with Swordfighter mode and with other Echoes in tow. You can use Bind to rip the helmet off to further expose him to attacks.
He will then alternate to horns of Fire, and you guessed it, use aerial ice Echoes!
- Skorchill’s fiery attacks include spitting out fireballs and summoning a massive fire tornado.

- Just keep strafing and moving to avoid his attacks.
- Recommended Echoes: Ice Keese and/or Ice Wizzrobes.
- Once his fire horns are destroyed, rinse and repeat!

Skorchill’s final phase will incorporate both elements with a twist:
- Ice horns: He will summon fire attacks
- Fire horns: He will summon his ice attacks
- Continue to utilize the elemental Echoes opposite of his helmet type.

After surviving the “Skorchill Remix”, this abdominal Echo (see what I did there?), is toast.
Where to find the referenced Echoes:
- Fire Wizzrobe: In the Eldin Temple on Eldin Volcano.
- Fire Keese: Eldin Volcano area–Lizalfos Burrow as well as the Lanayru Temple
- Ice Keese: Hebra Mountains
- Ice Wizzrobe: In the Hebra Mountains
