Boss Rush Banter: What Limited-Time Events Should Be Permanent in Genshin Impact?

With Genshin Impact‘s 5.3 update, HoYoverse has announced that the Repertoire of Myriad Melodies, a limited-time rhythm game, will become a permeant feature in the game. End-game content has long been desired by players of the game as the story is nearing its finale and players find themselves with little to do in the downtime between updates. What other limited-time events should become a permanent feature in Genshin Impact?

Kendra Macy on Boss Rush wrote a great article about whether or not the potions event the game had should become a feature of the game, so feel free to check that out as well.

Windtrace is the first event to come to mind with this question. It is undeniably one of the most popular co-op events in the game. With its features already mostly implemented, it would make a great candidate to be permanently integrated into Genshin Impact. As with its updates, new maps and items to be disguised as have been added, so the development team would likely have to continue to update those features as more nations are released. However, as they’ve announced to be doing similar updates and changes to the rhythm event, I think it would be time well spent for the player base to enjoy a permanent Windtrace event.

The other event that comes to mind for this question is the Adventurer’s Trials. These events have been built upon in the last few years as new characters and mechanics are introduced into the game. It works for both a solo and co-op experience and gives players the chance to play around with different characters. For players who don’t have the character, these trials are a great way to let players know more about the character’s playstyle by completing challenges using their mechanics in a fun way.

I also think the Divine Ingenuity event would be a great permanent feature. This event had players complete platform challenges to collect coins in a certain time period. Although the game’s own challenges were great, the player-created challenges were stunning. It was a great display of creativity from players in creating the most fun and/or difficult platforming challenges possible. It would be a great event to make into a permanent feature of the game because of its creativity in level designing.

One thing I hope to see made permanent as the story concludes is the summer questlines. Every summer, Genshin Impact has released a summer event that has opened new locations for players to explore with a great storyline that foreshadows the next region following its release. This isn’t a feature I see the developers releasing soon but I hope when the story concludes, it’s a feature that gets added.

A longtime lament I see from players is the fact that a lot of lore and story gets locked behind limited-time events such as the summer events. A particular moment I think about is from the second summer event in the Golden Apple Archipelagos where Nahida’s voice is teased as a way to introduce Sumeru. It’s a great teaser for players and having that in-game permanently would greatly benefit in introducing the new regions as players go through the main story quest.

What are your thoughts about Genshin Impact turning their limited-time event into a permanent game feature? What other events do you want to see stay in the game? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below or in our Boss Rush Discord!
