Genshin Impact‘s yearly Lantern Rite is coming soon, and with it comes the choice of a free four-star character who hails from Liyue. A few of the characters on this selection appears on this list for anyone trying to figure out what character they will choose for this year’s lantern rite.

For many new players, they rely on four-star characters to create effective teams or fill up space between five-star characters they own. This list will hold key four-star characters who can fill spaces even five-stars can’t, the best of the selection.

The criteria to fit this list is to be great a C0 (no constellations, meaning not having to pull for replicas) while also being rather easy to build artifact-wise. Not only that, but all six units are versatile and can fit in many team compositions.

1. Bennet

Bennet works great as an Attack Buffer, Healer, and Sub DPS (Damage-Per-Second) or damage dealer. His Burst, Fantastic Voyage, will heal the on-field character equal to or below 70% of their HP (Health Points). When the character’s HP is above 70%, the Burst will grant an Attack buff based on Bennet’s Attack.

2. Fischl

Fischl works as an Off-Field DPS and Element Reactor. Her Skill, Nightrider, will summon Oz to fight alongside the on-field character. Oz will deal periodic Electro Damage to nearby enemies. When the Passive Talent Undone Be Thy Sinful Hex is unlocked, on-field characters that do an Electro-related reaction with Oz on the field will cause the enemy to be struck with additional Electro Damage on top of the reaction.

3. Xingqiu

Xingqiu can be an emergency Healer, Off-Field DPS, and an Element Reactor. His burst, Guhua Sword: Rain Cutter, summons three Hydro swords to hover around the on-field character. These swords will attack enemies when the character does normal attacks. Furthermore, when these swords are active, they increase the character’s resistance to interruption. With the Passive Talent Hydropathic, when these swords are shattered or simply have met their duration time, they will regenerate six percent of the character’s HP based off Xingqiu’s own HP.

4. Yaoyao

Yaoyao is a great Healer and Element Reactor. Her skill, Raphanus Sky Cluster, summons an entity named Yuegui. Yuegui will throw radishes at the on-field character, healing them up to 70% of their HP. When there are mobs around, after reaching this HP threshold, Yuegui will instead throw radishes at enemies to deal damage and inflicting them with Dendro. Any radishes that miss a target will either explode when it makes contact with someone or when its duration expires. If no opponents are nearby, then Yuegui will heal characters up to 100% of their HP.

5. Xiangling

Xiangling is a versatile unit who works as an Off-Field DPS, Attack Buffer, and Element Reactor. Her Skill, Guoba Attack, will deal Pyro Damage in increments with her companion Guoba. When the Skill expires, with the Passive Talent Beware, It’s Super Hot, Guoba will leave behind a chili pepper. That pepper, when picked up, will increase the on-field character’s Attack by 10% for 10 seconds. Furthermore, her Burst, Pyronado, will create a flame wheel that circles around the active character, consistently applying Pyro to enemies while dealing damage. As an additional bonus, when characters go air-borne such as with Neuvillette or Wanderer, Pyronado will remain close to the ground to hit enemies and not move up with these characters.

6. Kuki Shinobu

Kuki works great as a Healer and Element Reactor. Her Skill, Sanctifying Ring, creates a ring of Electro around the on-field character. This ring will essentially pulse every one-and-a-half seconds (lasting a total of twelve seconds). This pulse will deal Electro Damage to nearby enemies, applying Electro to them. Additionally, this pulse heals the active character. The only downside is that the skill consumes Kuki’s HP continuously until she falls to 20%, never falling below it. Though, she can always heal herself with that same ring.
