February 2025 Showcase: Annapurna Interactive Continues to Publish Exciting Games

On February 25th, 2025, Annapurna Interactive held a roughly 20-minute showcase filled with games that we can look forward to this year. It wasn’t that long ago that there was a company walk-out in September 2024 due to discontent and confusion between the Annapurna Pictures and Annapurna Interactive arms (the latter as the gaming division), so it’s reasonable to wonder what would become of one the more iconic indie gaming publishers. With ten announcements and/or updates in this showcase, it looks like Annapurna Interactive still have a lot of life left.

The showcase opens with the devs behind Wheel World, a 3D open world cycling game. This ten-person developer, Messhof, has been working hard to transition their prior 2D experience into a fully fleshing out 3D world where you can race others or simply explore and enjoy the scenery. During this segment, we got to see more gameplay, and its stylistic nature is pure delight.

Wheel World releases sometime this year on Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and Steam.

Wanderstop

We get to see another trailer for this narrative-centric cozy little game that focuses on dealing with unwanted changes in life. Wanderstop drops March 11th, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Steam. The Steam demo is live to try out!

Skin Deep

Skin Deep is a quirky, goofy game by Blendo Games. They utilize the Doom 3 engine to harness an old-school look as you, an insurance commando named Nina, must take back stolen cats from space pirates. This colorful and crazy first-person indie title arrives April 30th on Steam, and the demo is out now.

Geometric Interactive Updates

The makers of award-winning indie title, Cocoon, has collaborated with iam8bit for a Collector’s Edition (currently sold out at the time of writing) and a vinyl record of the OST. They are also deep into their next project!

Lushfoil Photography Sim

Sim fans rejoice in this realistic photography game, Lushfoil Photography Sim. The trailer displayed breathtaking geographies from real-world places such as, but not limited to, Italy, France, Japan, Nepal, East China Sea, and Iceland. While you can capture images to your heart’s content, there are optional objectives for those that prefer a challenge. Lushfoil Photography Sim is just around the corner for Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam users April 15th.

Faraway

This next title can be played with one hand–one button to be exact. In Faraway, play as a shooting star as you explore the vast reaches of space and create constellations. This title was inspired by Tetris for its minimalist system while providing much depth as the player engages. Faraway shoots onto Steam sometime this year.

To a T

If you liked Katamari Damacy and Wattam, look no further than To a T, the latest title from Keita Takahashi. You play as a boy (who is constantly in a T pose) with his dog in this narrative-driven adventure. Oh, and there are singing giraffes. To a T will be available on Xbox Game Pass as well as PlayStation 5 and Steam May 28th.

Morsels

If this title sounds familiar, Morsels premiered at a Nintendo Indie World Showcase about half a year ago.

Game designer, Toby, sat with Annapurna to talk about his experience developing Morsels–an action rouge-lite where you, a mouse, utilize magical cards to battle monsters and feline bosses! The game will release this year.

Secret Surprise for Donut County Fans?

No, nothing was announced today regarding Donut County, but the brief exchange between Mira and BK seem to hint at something new at the next showcase…

Sayonara Wild Hearts on PlayStation 5

Yes, this beloved title made its way to PlayStation 5 today (along with a free upgrade for PlayStation 4 owners). This means haptic feedback, 4K resolution, and a whopping 120 FPS. But wait, there’s more. This PlayStation 5 version will have its own exclusive, unlockable game mode. Check out the trailer below!
