Other than the YouTube chat, most people walked away with something to feast on after Sony’s first State of Play of 2025. From multi-player survival experiences to action-adventure titles, there was something for everyone. Which titles made it to your wish list?

With a blend of new announcements, release date reveals, and updates, my wallet is shivering with fear. A few of my top titles from the State of Play are (and spoilers, they aren’t the “big” ones):
Shinobi: Heart of Vengeance
Capcom is not the only developer on fire. SEGA brought some titles to the State of Play, and this neat 2D side-scroller from a beloved franchise caught my attention. It is an action platformer featuring fun battle styles and a breathtaking hand-drawn art style. Shinobi: Heart of Vengeance will drop 8/29/2025. Pre-orders are now available.
Darwin’s Paradox
Konami also featured two games, and Darwin’s Paradox seemed to be overshadowed by the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater release date announcement. To be honest, this trailer grabbed my attention with its charming protagonist and Astrobot-like art-style. I can’t wait to go on an adventure with Darwin the octopus and survive the strange new environment.
Dreams of Another
It’s all about atmosphere and unique gameplay for me, and Dreams of Another‘s theme of “No Creation without Destruction” intrigued me. And you must watch the trailer to fully appreciate the neat art direction:
Blue Prince
Action-adventure titles are a dime a dozen, but Blue Prince invites you to a much different experience. Explore an ever-shifting mansion where you get lost in its atmosphere while solving puzzles!
Now, of course I’m excited for the new Onimusha game and remake of Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, but those were some standouts that deserve a moment in the spotlight for me.
