Nintendo has finished off a tremendously busy news day with the addition of four new strategy-oriented Super Nintendo titles to their Nintendo Switch Online service. All four new additions come from developer Koei Co., prior to their merger with Tecmo Ltd.
Nobunaga’s Ambition
Joining the service is one of the first games in a long-running strategy series, via 1986’s Nobunaga’s Ambition. Players take control of Japanese feudal warlords in the time of Oda Nobunaga, and lead their forces to victory through economic and military strategy.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness
The 1990 sequel, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, is added to Nintendo Switch Online as well. The fourth title in the Nobunaga’s Ambition series, the setting is expanded out to include the entirety of Japan, and allows the player to create their own custom daimyo leader to control.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire
Players more interested in Chinese history may prefer the addition of Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire. Initially released in 1994, the Super Nintendo release sees players take control of one of the great heroes from the famous Chinese historical novel.

Uncharted Waters: New Horizons
The final game comes via the addition of 1993’s Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. Uncharted Waters is a role-playing simulation series that emulates the experience of privateering in the Age of Discovery, and New Horizons is the second title in the series. Set in the 16th century, players can control characters ranging from explorers to pirates, cartographers, soldiers, and more.

Customers can access these strategy-heavy Koei titles through Nintendo Switch Online’s Super Nintendo category. It is available to all NSO subscribers without the need of the additional Expansion Pass.
