Nintendo surprised us with a new Direct for upcoming games coming to the Nintendo Switch system. With the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct premiering on April 2nd, Nintendo focused only on games coming to Switch (and two unexpected non-gaming announcements). With that, let’s jump into all the reveals and the announcements.
Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake
Square Enix started the show with gameplay for Dragon Quest 1 & 2 2D-HD. With its beautiful sprite work and a new character appearing in the final scene, these games will contain new content. The game will be released sometime in 2025.
No Sleep for Kaname Date – From the AI: The Somnium Files
In No Sleep for Kaname Date, you play as Special Agent Kaname Date, who must find the missing internet idol known as Iris. With your trusty partner, Aiba, you two must find clues and solve puzzles to get to Iris before her time runs out in an unknown escape room she has been taken to. Can you reach her in time and find the kidnapper? Find out on July 25th.
RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army
From the excellent studio, ATLUS, this 2006 PlayStation 2 exclusive is now being remastered and released on Nintendo Switch. You play as Raidou Kuzunoha, a detective and Devil Summoner who must solve crimes and fight various demons in this action RPG. Check out the trailer and prepare to investigate and fight on June 19th.
Shadow Labyrinth
In one of the most bizarre but intriguing announcements, Bandai Namco finally revealed gameplay for their newest title, Shadow Labyrinth. You play as Agent 8 who is accompanied by an iteration of Pac-Man. To escape the maze, you two must work together to find your way out in this metroidvania adventure. Fight, consume enemies and bosses, gain new abilities, and more to reveal why and how you were in the maze in the first place. Shadow Labyrinth eats its way out and onto your Nintendo Switch on July, 18th.
Patapon & Patapon 2: Replay
In a surprising move, Bandai Namco is releasing a Patapon collection on Nintendo Switch. Previously, a PSP series, the rhythm-based strategy game with have you tapping and singing while fighting a variety of enemies through multiple stages. Check out the trailer as the game is releasing on July 11th.
Story Of Seasons: Grand Bazaar
A new entry in the Story Of Season series is ready to grow your Switch library with Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. This farming sim game will have you building a new life in Zepper Town. Farm your crops, sell them in the town Bazaar, and meet new characters to build your relationships. Marriage might even happen if you find the one. Check out the trailer as the game launches on August 27th.
Disney Villains Cursed Cafe
It’s time to serve your devilishly delicious potions to the world of Disney’s villains. You will concoct new drinks that may or may not affect the stories and characters who visit you. You can check out the trailer and get ready to serve as Disney Villains Cursed Cafe releases today.
Witchbrook
Chucklefish has released an updated trailer for their newest game, Witchbrook. As a student at a prestige school, you will learn new spells and help out the community so you can pay for your school tuition and more. Witchbrook is planned for Winter 2025.
The Eternal Life Of Goldman
With its Ducktales-inspired gameplay, The Eternal Life Of Goldman is a beautifully animated 2D platformer. With not much to go on about the plot or who Goldman is, this game speaks early 90’s animated movie. Check out the trailer to see it in action. No date for release at this time.
Gradius Origins
Konami has been on a roll with releasing their classic titles in collections, and their latest announcement is keeping that ship going. Flying to be exact. In Gradius Origins, you’ll get to play not only the different variations of Gradius but also the games Life Force and the Japan-only Salamander. Also, this collection will have Salamandor 3. You don’t have to hold space, I mean, wait to take off as the game will launch on August 7th.
Rift of The Necrodancer
Get ready to rock, as Rift of The Necrodancer takes itself to the Guitar Hero inspired game play. Rock to the 4/4 beat as you hit the direction pad and buttons to create combos and progress through the campaign. There are also minigames for you to try out. Revive your love for music games now as it is available today.
Tamagotchi Plaza
Get ready to shop to your heart’s content as Tamagotchi Plaza is the newest entry in the Tamagotchi franchise. Check out the trailer and get ready to dive in on June 27.

King of Meat will release sometime in 2025, and Lou’s Lagoon will release this summer.
Saga Frontier 2 Remaster
Square Enix continues to remaster some of their classic titles and Saga Frontier 2 is the latest to get the treatment. Released on the PlayStation in 1999, this 26-year-old title is being brought back to life with some quality-of-life improvements. Check out the trailer and get ready to adventure out as Saga Frontier 2 Remaster is available now.
Monument Valley Series
The amazing indie puzzle series is coming to Switch with Monument Valley 1 and 2 releasing on the hybrid. It was also announced that Monument Valley 3 is coming to the console too! Monument Valley 1 and 2 releases on April 15th.
Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots
The classic Hot Shots Golf series has finally arrived on a Nintendo console with a new entry. Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots is a golfing game from the developers Camelot, who developed the Golden Sun series. It’s planned for a 2025 release.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
Dotemu is continuing their hit-making games with an unexpected announcement of Marvel Cosmic Invasion. This 4-player beat ’em up will take Spider-Man, Storm, and other Marvel characters in a fight to save the world in this 2D Beat ‘em up. Check out the trailer as the game is planned for 2025.
Nintendo Announcements
Now, Nintendo came with a couple of announcements themselves with two new games and some updates about Pokémon Legends Z-A and Metroid Prime 4. They also revealed the Nintendo Today App and the new Virtual Game Card. Check out the trailers from Nintendo themselves.
