The Xbox July 2025 update is now rolling out to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Cloud, with several new features—especially for Xbox PC.

According to a recent post on Xbox Wire, the July update brings the launch of “Stream Your Own Game” on PC, letting Game Pass Ultimate members stream over 250 titles they own—even ones outside the Game Pass library. Console-only games that weren’t available on the Xbox app for PC can now also be streamed, making it easier to play across devices.
Xbox is also currently testing a new “Play History” feature with Insiders, showing your recently played games across console, PC, and the cloud in one place—whether they’re owned or from Game Pass. A Microsoft Rewards tracker on the Xbox PC app has been added as well in select regions, letting players see their progress as they play. Additional updates include more Play Anywhere titles, additions to the Retro Classics library, and expanded streaming support.
Xbox continues to move toward a truly unified ecosystem across console, cloud, and PC. With the AMD partnership, the upcoming ROG Ally X handheld, and ongoing efforts to improve cross-platform progression and game tracking, the pieces are falling into place. If Xbox can deliver on the promise of a seamless, shared library across all platforms, they could finally realize the ecosystem they’ve been building toward—without tripping at the finish line.
