Today, your friends at Boss Rush continued with day three of PAX West 2025 in Seattle, Washington. The weather remained cool today, cloudy and in the 70s; but that didn’t stop the action from heating up on the convention floor. More amazing cosplays, pro-gaming competitions, merch, and much more. Here are our highlights for PAX West on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

The Boss Rush Network team attendance at PAX West 2025: Ed (Vice President), David (Editor In Chief), Pat (Chief Gaming Officer), Jou Lee (Senior Writer), Courtney (Social Media Manager), and Sofi (Associate Writer). Each day, we’ll share our highlights from all the action at PAX West.
Ed (Vice President)

Day three was not only a busy day for me, but it was the best day for me. I started at Daedalic Entertainment and got a chance to hear about the games they had at the show: Bloodgrounds, Surviving Deponia, The Occultist, The Fading Of Nicole Wilson, Wild Woods, and Woodo. Each game brings a diverse genre of gameplay. Specifically with The Occultist, I was so into this walking murder mystery adventure. It was full-on Talk The Walk material for a game. I am going to try the other games before I leave to fly home.
I also got to check out Gamesir and talk about their custom controllers for the Xbox and PC. Such an awesome talk about them as a company and what they offer. I also received a free controller and was very thankful for it. It’s awesome what they do, and they have a big selection to choose from.
I did check out Swordai, which is a PvPvE sword-fighting game that is still in development by a solo developer. Courty and I got to play Obakeidoro 2: Chase and Seek with the PR, and we… lost both rounds but had a blast with it. Just to note, we played the Japanese version and are awaiting the localization for America to come. I also got to talk to Collin from AAAA games about their Kickstarter for Royalty: Free-For-All and got to play a new demo of the game with the team.
Two of the biggest highlights through these three days are talking to the CEO, Nobuhiro Yoshikawa, of City Connection Co. Ltd, and the General Manager, Taiki Homma, of the same company. I full-on nerded out about Jaleco and its history for us retro gamers of the NES and SNES here in America. I spent my whole appointment talking and getting excited. It was a moment and an interview I will always cherish.
The second one was talking to the director of Mistfall Hunters, developed by Bellring Games, Haoliang Zhang, or Hao for short. I didn’t even get to play the game because the conversation was so entertaining, informative, funny at times, and engaging. Hao was so humble and passionate, and I truly thanked him for his time to talk to me about his game. With everything I played and enjoyed, Mistfall Hunters is my number one game at PAX West 2025. I did make a character and just looking at how beautiful the game is and smooth, hearing Hao talk about it and explaining more of the game, made me hyped for its release sometime in Q4 for Steam and Xbox Series S|X, and for the play test on September 16.
With one more day to PAX West to go before I leave Seattle, I truly appreciate all the people, games, and passionate attendees that I got to interact with and network with. It was such an amazing time, and with an exquisite team of the Boss Rush Network crew here at PAX West—I truly enjoyed my time here.
David (Editor-In-Chief)

Day three meant that PAX West is drawing to a close. Sunday is often the last big push since for most folks, Monday is a travel day, despite the conference technically going four days; the crowds will be dramatically smaller tomorrow and presenters at industry booths will be on their last ounce of energy. On a personal level, today was also my last day at the conference, and after packing as much interviews, games, tours, and merch into the first two days, I took an easier pace today as my family came to visit me on the convention floor.
I had an incredible time taking my 13-year-old to some of their favorite games and discovering new ones together. I also got my wife to try the new Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which was a lot of fun playing together and a great experience. I also managed to squeeze in some professional work today while my family took some well-earned breaks. My favorite interview of the day was over in the Summit building at the Tabletop Gaymers booth. The group is a non-profit focused on creating welcoming and safe tabletop gaming experiences for all people, and particularly for those identifying as LGBTQ+. I’ll be writing a full article about it tomorrow, so be sure to come back to read more about this great organization. They were so kind and one of my favorite stops of the day.
I also had a chance to stop by the Guardians Mental Health booth, which is always a great experience. I learned about their mental health chat bot that can be added to any Discord server and will automatically provide mental health resources to anyone seeking help or struggling. They are another important organization doing powerful work.
Pat (Chief Gaming Officer)

I think I found my favorite indie game at PAX West: Fractured Blooms from Serenity Forge. It’s a farming / life sim that has Silent Hill elements. How does that work? Well, you’ll just have to check it out yourself. It’s still in early development, so it won’t be out for a while, but it is something to keep on your radar.
Other than that. I spent a lot of time networking and catching up with old friends, while making new friends. We finally had a chance to run into Kimchika, albeit briefly, and then I got to meet up with Liana Ruppert, CM for Amazon’s Fallout Series. She was a lot of fun hanging out with, and I got to hear a lot of fun stories about the industry.
Jou Lee (Senior Writer)

Whew, I finally got to try a few games I had really been looking forward to these past few days at PAX West. First, I secured a spot at Sashimi Slayer, a game controlled by a sword! It was amazing, and it was great to talk about the hardware of the controller and the development of the game. I also got to try out The Rabbit Haul, which was an experience of itself. It was a great mix between a strategic farming simulator and a tower defense game. It is definitely a game where players learn more about the game and its strategies the more runs they play. I also had a chance to check our Fractured Blooms with Patrick and Courty from our team. It looked fabulous with a narrative told similar to Slay the Princess but an underlying sinister undertone like Doki Doki Literature Club. It is definitely a game on my watch list!
Sofi (Associate Writer)
Had a lot more of a productive day today by attending my first panels of PAX here and actually knocking down a couple games off my “must play” list. Shueisha games and their booth were the highlight of my day. They were kind enough to offer me a private playthrough of an upcoming dodgeball action game from Thailand. Hoping to keep in contact with them.
Courtney (Social Media Manager)
From crazy coffee lines to having to take a secret route to the media room, PAX today was just as adventurous as yesterday. This being my first year at West has definitely been a learning experience—with it spread across two buildings and four floors, and since it’s Sunday, I still haven’t even scratched the surface of the con.
A few highlights from the day would have to be playing Obakeidoro 2 with Ed, chatting with the PR team for the game, hanging out with Pat while playing Unsent, and reconnecting with them and their story. Even the food (I’m from Texas) was packed with flavor—I didn’t miss home one bit.
Tomorrow, the plan is to speedrun the rest of PAX that I haven’t seen, really pick the devs’ brains, and reach out more to marketers. I love seeing ideas and concepts—sometimes one idea sparks another that I can piggyback on.
