It seems we have another “let’s be mad at Nintendo” situation with the YouTube channel “PokeNational Geographic” taken down for copyright infringement. The creator of the channel, Elios, used original hand drawn imagery with the original game sound effects, to create nature using Pokémon.
Elios tried to work something out by taking them down but to no avail. Once the story came out, the Nintendo bashing started back up. By now, we know that Nintendo will do anything and everything to protect their IP. When it comes to using their content, a lot of creators become afraid if they will sue or go after them.

Now, I have never seen or heard about this channel and it is sad that this happened. It really hurts the fans to see Nintendo continue to do this but that is a risk when we try to make Nintendo content.
A lot of us have to remember that Nintendo is a Japanese company and that American opinions and ways don’t apply to a company on another continent.
We have done this before, and we know the outcomes when people do this. We read the story a multitude of times. Yet, people will take their chances and gamble with whatever they do. Consequences be purple mushroom.

Look, the creator put a lot of time, love, passion, and probably money into what they created and to have it taken away like that is upsetting, frustrating, and sad. I believe Elios can still create a channel on other IP’s or something original that people would love to see. With multiple copyright strikes being ignored, can we actually be mad about the situation?
There is a positive light because of the story, people may go and check out some of Elios work and support them. Sometimes, negative situations can bring out positive outcomes. This won’t be the end of them. They’ll create and make something better. Give it time.
In the end, it’s the same cycle when it comes to situations like this. Something of Nintendo’s IP is use (in this case, the Pokémon Company) or something illegal used, Nintendo sues or sends out notice, Nintendo wins or lose, and we move on from the story. Opinions get thrown around and then die out once something Nintendo announces a day or two later. Rinse. Repeat. Quiet down and phases out.

So, here we go again.
