Nintendo finally announced the release date for Tears of the Kingdom amiibo, Mineru’s Construct. This amiibo was first announced in April 2025 – over one year ago. The other amiibo, Tulin, Yunobo, Sidon, and Riju, arrived a month afterward, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment released in November 2025. Even though you can now pre-order Mineru’s Construct, it actually won’t arrive until September 17th, 2026. With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom several years behind us, is this amiibo release just a little too late?
First, let’s see what Mineru’s Contruct has to offer. Its biggest feature is its articulated arms that you can pose however you want. When you scan it into The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you can get a unique paraglider fabric. You can also receive random items when scanning it into any of the Wilds Era games, including Age of Imprisonment.
That’s it.
Granted, this is pretty much the same perks as the other recent Legend of Zelda amiibo; however, the bone I have to pick with is the timing. Nintendo has stated that they have no intentions on releasing a Tears of the Kingdom DLC and that they are looking toward the next new iteration in the franchise. While Mineru’s Construct may be a nice reminder to play these games, I am unsure if this amiibo alone will be what moves the needle for people to either replay the game or attract new customers. If anything, it makes me feel like it is a half-hearted attempt to get people to pick up Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment based on the trailer they released:
Mineru’s Construct is $34.99 USD, which is on trend with the higher prices seen in recent amiibo lines. While the articulating arms are pretty neat, I’m not really sure if I am as motivated to buy this. If you asked me in 2023 or even last year, I would’ve been more enthusiastic.
