Square Confirms Souls-Like Final Fantasy Origin, Demo Coming Soon to PS5

Square Enix confirmed during their E3 panel rumors of a Final Fantasy game inspired by the Dark Souls series of games.

Titled Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, the game is being developed by Team Ninja and co-published by Koei Tecmo Games.

The new trailer shows a group of three adventures setting out to destroy a being called chaos.

Towards the end of the trailer, the party confront an armored knight named Garland, and address themselves as “the Heroes of Light.” This confirms that the action RPG is a retelling of sorts of the very first Final Fantasy game first released on the Nintendo Famicom in 1987.
