October is quickly approaching; this has been an unforgettable MLB season and the excitement is only getting started. The NL East and NL West are still looking for a definitive champion, the AL Wildcard race is heating up, and will Shohei Ohtani win the MVP award? We have a lot of questions going into the final two weeks of the season so let’s get to ranking; welcome to Boss Rush Entertainment’s MLB Power Rankings. 

1. San Francisco Giants

The Giants officially clinched a spot in the playoffs this week, but their fate lies in the hands of the rest of the NL West. The Giants play 12 of their last 15 games against the division (6 of those games are against the San Diego Padres), the Giants need to keep their winning ways to fend off the Dodgers and win the division title. 

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers officially clinched a spot in the playoffs this week, but as of right now they only hold a wild card spot. Similar to the Giants the Dodgers play a majority of their remaining games against the division, the question has to be asked “who will spoil the Dodgers or Giant’s quest to win the division”? 

3. Tampa Bay Rays

Rays find ways to win games with no real superstars on the team, the Rays are downright dangerous going into October. 

4. Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers are going to win the NL Central and rightfully so, the Brew Crew is just great at winning. The bats have areally come alive the last week or two making the Brewers (in my opinion) a deadly threat in the playoffs.

5. Houston Astros

I hate admitting that Astros are good, but the closer we inch towards October the better the Astros become. It’s hard not to think the Astros will make a run in the playoffs but I am still hesitant that this clubhouse can be a team long enough for them to be successful in their World Series quest. 

6. Chicago White Sox
7. Boston Red Sox

The AL Wildcard race is downright fun to watch; next weekend could ultimately decide the race between Boston and New York as they face each other for the final time this year. I am giving Boston the edge this week because when Boston has needed to win in the clutch they somehow do it. I have been really high on the Red Sox all season long, but they need to prove me right in these final two weeks. 

8. New York Yankees

The Yankees are a rollercoaster of a team, but you can’t count them out of the playoffs quite yet. If you are the Yankees you need Stanton, Judge, Gallo, and Voit to produce at the plate in ways they have shown glimpses of all season. I still hate the bullpen that the Yankees have, but it’s too late to really do anything about that at this point in the season. 

9. Toronto Blue Jays

Add a new challenger to the AL Wildcard as the Jays enter the race after going 7-3 in their last ten games. Vlad Guerrero Jr. turned it up at the plate just when he needed to, and it helped propel the Blue Jays to be in wild card contention. 

10. Oakland Athletics

The focus of the media is going to be the Red Sox, Yankees, and Blue Jays when it comes to the Wildcard race; and yet history tells us to never underestimate the Athletics. 

11. Seattle Mariners
12. Atlanta Braves

Imagine if we end the MLB Power Rankings in two weeks and a division winner doesn’t make the top 10 (in the words of Paul Heyman “this is not a prediction it’s a spoiler). 

13. St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals swept the Cincinnati Reds this week. You have to admire the effort the Cardinals have shown late this season, but is it enough for them to take a wildcard spot?

14. San Diego Padres

The baseball fan in me wants the Padres to sweep the Giants this week and wreak havoc in the NL West in the final two weeks. 

15. Cincinnati Reds

Give yourself a round of applause Reds, you believed in yourself when no one else did and you made the final month of baseball really fun to watch in the NL Central. 

16. Philadelphia Phillies
17. Los Angeles Angels
18. New York Mets
19. Cleveland Indians
20. Detroit Tigers
21. Colorado Rockies
22. Kansas City Royals

Hot Take: Salvador Perez should be in the MVP race in the AL, because he doesn’t pitch, and hit dingers, but he won’t win this year. 

23. Chicago Cubs

I still have not emotionally recovered from Kris Bryant returning to Wrigley this past week.

26. Pittsburgh Pirates
27. Arizona Diamondbacks
28. Texas Rangers
29. Washington Nationals
