FORTNITE CHAPTER 3: Gears of War Heroes Kait Diaz and Marcus Fenix Join The Fight

Fortnite Chapter 3 is not slowing down in terms of the great skins the team is adding to the game. Epic Games is no stranger to partnering with Xbox, PlayStation, and other third parties to add their most popular IP to their game as well, including Master Chief, Kratos, Aloy, Lara Croft, and more.

Epic Games next collaboration brings characters from an all to familiar franchise to them, Gears of War. Created by Epic Games and released in 2006 as the Xbox 360 exclusive killer app, the first Gears of War really showed off the capabilities of Unreal Engine 3 and is often looked at as the first graphical powerhouse of Microsoft’s sophomore effort.

Now, franchise stars Marcus Fenix and Kait Diaz have made it to the island as skins. They are available now along with more Gears themed cosmetics, including:

  • Marcus Fenix skin with Sonic Resonator back bling
  • Kait Diaz skin with Reyna’s Pendant back bling
  • Breaker Mace pickaxe
  • Thumper pickaxe
  • Butcher Cleaver pickaxe
  • Skiff glider
  • Knife Tricks emote

Microsoft purchased the Gears IP outright from Epic after an amazing trilogy and a prequel from People Can Fly (Outriders) Gears of War Judgement, handing the reins over to The Coalition led by long time franchise producer Rod Fergusson for Gears of War 4. The The last main entry, Gears 5, released in 2019 with spinoff Gears Tactics launching alongside the Xbox Series X|S in November of 2020 from developer Splash Damage.
