Sony Provides Financial Report For the Company and Reveals PlayStation 5 Sales Numbers

Sony has provided the public with the latest financial report for the company, including technology and movie revenue. What is of particular interest is that the PlayStation 5 has now sold 19.3 million units, which was a big increase from the estimated 13 million sold recorded in January 2022. With a prolonged semiconductor shortage, with no remedy in the short-term, what will Sony do to keep the numbers rolling?

We know sourcing is an important part in keeping these parts consistent, so as the market and raw material become available we should expect higher numbers from all the companies experiencing this worldwide. For now everyone must ride the shortage wave as shifts in the market occur. In the meantime Sony must do its best to balance the sales and operating income of the company to minimize and counter potentially lost revenue in sales.
