During Thursday’s Summer Game Fest 2022 presentation, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge was shown off, revealing a new playable character, an additional mode, and finally a release date.
The trailer began with the surprise reveal of the hockey mask wearing vigilante Casey Jones as he joins the team in the battle against the Foot Clan. The trailer showcases gameplay fending off foes with his golf club and bat with brute strength. Casey Jones was one of the highly requested playable characters by fans to appear in the game.
The news didn’t stop there, however, as a reveal of 6 player co-op locally and online were introduced. 6 player co-op is reminiscent of the classic arcade beat ’em up X-Men, and should make brawls with friends even more exciting.
Just as the trailer seemed to come to a close, Donatello displayed the release date onto the screen. The official release date of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is June 16th. Alas, the wait is finally over and in only 7 days we can feast on pizza with our buddies and kick butt on this most anticipated new adventure with the heroes of the half shell!
Physical Editions were previously announced to become available after digital versions of the game, so retailers will likely have those soon. Limited Run Games announced physical editions during the LRG3 event on June 6, but no release date of those have been revealed as of yet. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will be available for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on June 16th.
