San Diego Comic-Con 2022 is in full swing, running from Thursday, July 21 through the end of the weekend. There were a lot of announcements made during day one (check out our excellent recap here), but the one that got me the most excited was the Batgirl trailer for WB Montreal’s upcoming Gotham Knights.
Not only did we get the new trailer above, we also got some new information on Gotham Knights, including the fact that Batman is “really dead” and isn’t just being held back for an endgame reveal. And as for the Dark Knights arch nemesis, the Joker isn’t appearing in the game either, but his partner-in-crime Harley Quinn just might make an appearance.
There is a lot of Batman-related content coming our way, with this game releasing on October 25th, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League coming out next year, and Gotham Knights (unrelated to this game) premiering on the CW this fall. It can get a little confusing to know which game takes place in which universe, but with recent comments from creative director Patrick Redding, we can rest assured that Gotham Knights is its own standalone game that is not connected to the excellent Arkham games (whereas Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is).
