Dead Island 2 has had a long history of delay. Originally the game was announced in 2014 by Yager the development studio behind Spec Ops: The Line. After a short period Yager was removed from the project in 2015 and placed in Sumo Digital’s hands. In 2019 Deep Silver replaced Sumo Digital with Dambuster Studios and now we arrive to the present.
It was slated to come out in early February 2023 and is now delayed a short 12 months to April 28th, 2023. This was according to the Dead Island 2 official twitter account. We have waited for so long another 3 months seems like a minuscule amount of time.

Dead Island 2 takes place in Los Angeles this time around and you can choose from 6 different playable characters instead of 4 like the previous installments. The survivors, who are resistant from a pathogen that is ravaging the city, will need to scavenge for useful items to survive and hopefully save humanity.
With such a long wait on this game are you excited to play? Have you played the previous games? What are your hopes for Dead Island 2? Let us know if you will take on the hordes to save mankind.
