Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Become Second Biggest Pokémon Release of All Time

The highly anticipated release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet heralded the second-biggest release in the franchise’s history.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, it was also the UK’s biggest box game release of the year.

Pokémon unseated Sony’s God of War: Ragnorok, which fell to fourth place behind FIFA 23.

In addition to moving a high number of units, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet also boosted the sale of Switch models. Hardware sales rose 64% from the previous week. It was also the highest-selling week of the year.
