A new teaser trailer is out for downloadable content for Dead Cells, showcasing a crossover with an established franchise.

Specifically, the trailer gave a preview of Dracula’s castle and other Castlevania-themed areas. It also provided glimpses of various enemies from the Castlevania series.

Some of those enemies include Dracula and Death, both in the form of battles. A storyline within the DLC also features Richter Belmont approaching The Beheaded after an appearance of “a strange, malevolent castle.”

The DLC itself will include two biomes to explore as well as 14 weapons, many of which come from the Castlevania series. These include the Vampire Killer, Throwing Axe, and Holy Water.

The developers state each weapon in the DLC will keep pace with the frantic combat style of Dead Cells. Players will utilize these weapons as they fight the undead and defeat the evil within the castle.

An alternative soundtrack will accompany the throwback weapons and storyline as there are 51 original Castlevania tracks in the DLC. There are also 12 reimagined Castlevania tracks that borrow from the Dead Cells style.

The original announcement for this DLC came during the 2022 The Game Awards. Game developers Motion Twin and Evil Empire claim this DLC will be the biggest since the 2018 release of Dead Cells.

The game itself is a side-scrolling roguelike and Metroidvania combination game. Players control the Prisoner and explore an island filled with mutated monsters.

The game is available on a host of consoles including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One as well as PC and mobile gaming.

The developers plan to release more details on the DLC in the future and plan to do so via Twitter.
