Most folks who know me know I’m addicted to Salmon Run. While I enjoyed the mode in Splatoon 2, the fact that it wasn’t always available prevented me from falling in love. But since Splatoon 3 released I have been splatting salmonids nonstop. When the game launched there were just 3 levels. Since then they’ve added a new one and given us the Big Run mode which has Salmon Run playable on a normal battle stage every few months. Which of the Salmon Run stages is your favorite?
Each stage has pros and cons. While some events can be difficult anywhere, some stages make certain modes a bit tougher, or provide relief from an otherwise difficult challenge. The newest stage, Marooner’s Bay, seems to flip some expectations of which modes are more difficult. On Marooner’s Bay the traditionally hard Glowflies, or Rush, can be a bit easier. Other usually challenging modes such as High Tide and Grillers, also feel easier there. Conversely, Medium Tide, doable on many other stages, can present an extra challenge on Marroner’s Bay due to its size.

Sockeye Station is one of the easiest levels to get a good grip on Salmon Run with. The main tower in the middle provides a clear place to gather to deal with the more dangerous threats, and the general layout of the level makes movement easy in all but the worst of situations.
The Gone Fission Hydroplant stage can feel a bit claustrophobic, especially at High Tide. The non-traversable exterior walls create movement blocks and make this stage a bit tough. However it isn’t without its perks, as you can use those same walls to your advantage and attack from above using them.

The last regular stage, Spawning Grounds, provides a unique challenge due to the grated area. While these grates are useful at Medium Tide, they can become a death trap at High Tide. Dealing with some of the more difficult challenges like Grillers on this stage can cause some confusion with players not using a consistent strategy.
Lastly in Salmon Run is the Big Run mode. This special event has only happened once so far and the stage that was chosen was Wahoo World. Given that it’s not a regular occurrence, the fact it’s a unique mode, and it’s unclear if the same stage will be used again, it’s hard to specify Wahoo World as a favorite or discuss the particulars of that level.
As for me, I’m always happy to see Sockeye Station, although I have a fondness for Gone Fission Hydroplant as well. Of course the weapon load out and specific waves I’m facing can impact which stage feels best, those are my favorite two. What about you? Do you have a favorite map on Splatoon 3’s Salmon Run mode?
