Earlier today, HoYoverse streamed information about Genshin Impact’s 4.7 update. It came with a lot of news about new characters and features to the game. This stream also revealed that 4.7 is releasing the new Archon Quest about Khaenri’ah with Dainsleif and the traveler’s missing sibling.

New Character: Clorinde
Clorinde is the new five-star Electro character announced in the livestream. She is a sword user who also utilizes a pistol in her combat. Her Charged Attack will target enemies using her pistol in a V-shape in front of her.
Clorinde’s skill is named Hunter’s Vigil which enters her into the Night Vigil state. In this state, she can release two different kinds of special attacks. All of her normal attacks will be converted into “Swift Hunt.” This is a pistol attack that increases her Bond of Life, the same mechanism as Arlecchino’s combat style in 4.6. These pistol attacks will actually increase her Bond of Life.
In the Night Vigil state, her Skill will become a lunging attack named “Impale the Night.” This attack will recover her Health Points (HP) based on the current Bond of Life and actually clear her Bond of Life.
Her two different attacks are important to her kit. With a high Bond of Life, her lunging attacks will have a larger Area of Effect (AoE) and deal higher damage. However, when her Bond of Life is low, “Swift Hunt” has more of a piercing effect and deals more damage.
Her kit is a careful balance between using her pistol to gain a Bond of Life, dealing higher amounts of damage, before reaching a certain point to turn into lunging attacks. The higher Bond of Life will deal larger amounts of damage with “Impale the Night” before clearing the bond to restart the process.
Clorinde’s Elemental Burst, Last Lightfall, releases a powerful Electro AoE attack, featuring a beautiful animation to kick it off. It both allows Clorinde to dodge attacks as well as hit opponents. This burst will also give her a Bond of Life based on Clorinde’s max HP to kick start her Skill’s rotation of attacks.
New Character: Sigewinne
The next character introduced was Sigewinne. She is a five-star Hydro character who fights with a bow. Her Charged Attack shoots out slow moving, Hydro-charged bubbles when her arrow is not released that deals damage to nearby opponents.
Her Skill, Rebound Hydrotherapy, creates a Bolstering Bubblebalm from a bubble gun. This is a giant bubble that bounces multiple times, dealing damage to opponents it comes in contact with and restoring HP for all party members beside herself. When the bubble disappears, Sigewinne will be healed a certain amount of HP based on her max HP. Sigewinne’s Skill also has a chargeable value. The longer the Skill is held down for, the more it will deal damage and heal characters.
The Skill will also drop two Sourcewater Droplets. When Sigewinne picks up a droplet, she forms a Bond of Life. Every time the bond is cleared, she can restore some of her Elemental Energy based on how much of the bond cleared out which can be done through Sigewinne’s healing.
After Sigewinne absorbs Sourcewater Droplets and has enough energy, she can release her Elemental Burst. Her burst releases continuous Hydro damage stream from a syringe similar to Neuvillette’s Charged Attack.
New Character: Sethos
Sethos, who players were introduced to in the 4.6 update, also becomes a playable character in this update. He is a four-star Electro character who utilizes a bow.
His aimed shot has a special Charge Attack which can turn into a Level Two Shot. He won’t be able to move but can fire off a more powerful shot dealing Electro damage to all enemies in its path. This shot will also deplete Elemental Energy after unlocking the talent Black Kite’s Enigma which reduces the charging time for this shot. After releasing the shot, some Elemental Energy will be restored.
His Skill deals an AoE Electro attack that increases his Elemental Energy, especially whenever an Electro-charged reaction happens. This skill deals damage and also forces Sethos backwards to dodge attacks.
His Elemental Burst will enter the Twilight Meditation State making his attacks Electro-charged. These Dusk Bolt shots will deal increased damage based on his Elemental Mastery. The attacks are similar to his Charged Attacks meaning it will pierce through enemies, moving through them to hit more enemies.
The first Character Banner will feature Clorinde alongside Alhaitham with Sethos featuring in the four-star line up. The next banner of this update will star Siegewinne and Furina.
Animated Short
HoYoverse has been working on an anime for Genshin Impact for the past year. This livestream revealed an animated short that likely gives a sneak peek to the anime. It was absolutely stunning.
It appears that Aether and Paimon are separated from Lumine and Dain who are traveling together. Each region is present in the animated short and appear to be mirroring each other, of their journey throughout Teyvat.
But, there are a few scenes of the siblings interacting together, likely their first journey through Teyvat before they met the Heavenly Principles. It was a very solemn animation that reminisces on the traveler’s journey and how far the story has come. Hopefully, there will be more news about the anime soon.
New Event, Permanent Features
The Imaginarium Theater will be a new permanent feature of the game. It is a combat-focus room hidden in the library that runs similar to Honkai: Star Rail’s Simulated Universe. Players will go through certain scenarios and domains with a team of characters to battle their way to victory.
Players can receive Performance Tour Rewards which seem to reset every month as seen by the 35 Day(s) 11 hour(s) countdown in the livestream featuring this event. There appears to be eight levels and each level of completion grants some value of primogems and gives 600 primogems altogether. When an act gets cleared and finalized for the first time, players will also receive a bonus reward in a debut Performance Gift which grants 1,200 primogems.
Alongside these rewards, players will also accumulate toy medals from the event which they can exchange for more prizes. These rewards include special poses for characters to do in pictures that can be used outside of the event. When the Imaginarium Theater is updated, new poses can also be added for players.
Each month, this room will alternate updates with Spiral Abyss. Spiral Abyss rewards will also increase from 600 primogems to 800.
Natlan Teaser
Players also got a Natlan teaser, featuring new companions as well as some landscape reveals. It looks absolutely stunning. There appears to be a volcano and a large canyon to travel through. There is a lot of graffiti marked throughout the landscape, perhaps remnants of the people living there or representations for the companions.
Natlan is said to be filled with dragons. It’s likely the three companions who travel around, likely as a mount or maybe even the traveler turning into these creatures to explore Natlan. One companion appears to be able to travel underground, even climbing up mountain sides. Another swims through water faster and is even revealed to swim through lava. Another seems to be a flier, grappling through the sky by itself to get to higher ground.
It definitely hypes up the coming 5.0 update that will release Natlan.
