Total War: Warhammer III’s Omens of Destruction Inflicts 3 Fresh Apocalypses

Total War: Warhammer III’s next DLC pack, Omens of Destruction, will launch on December 12, 2024. This collection of three Legendary Lords introduces new campaigns and units for the daemons of Khorne, the Ogre Kingdoms, and the Orcs & Goblins.

The DLC launches alongside Update 6.0, which introduces free material, “tweaks,” and fixes for all owners. The free unit is the Legendary Lord Arbaal the Undefeated, “the champion of Khorne who has seen thousands fall beneath the crimson arc of his axe!” Additionally, the three highlighted armies will receive faction updates for all owners.

But who are the Legendary Lords from Omens of Destruction, and what are their campaign features?

Skulltaker, the Hero Slayer (Khorne)

U’Zhul the Skulltaker, introduced in 2008 throughout the Chaos-aligned army books, is Khorne’s immortal champion and the greatest of all Bloodletters. His campaign features include:

Cloak of Skulls: Skulltaker must seek-out and defeat powerful enemy lords across the heroic pantheon of the Warhammer World. With each skull added to his cloak, powerful new abilities and traits can be earned and upgraded.

The Skulltaker’s new units include two legendary heroes, Skarr Bloodwrath and Skyla Anfingrimm, and ordinary units Bloodspeaker, Slaughterbrute, Bloodbeasts, Wrathmongers, Skullreapers, and Khorngors

Gorbad Ironclaw, The Brutal Unifier (Orcs & Goblins)

Gorbad Ironclaw, introduced in 2000’s Orcs & Goblins army book, is one of the deadliest and most effective orc warbosses. Legendary for the sheer destruction left in his path, this hulking orc possesses a rare mix of brain and brawn, valuing the damage done by tiny, crafty goblins equally as much as the brawling orcs.

Battle Playstyle: Riding into battle atop his fierce Warboar, Gnarla, Gorbad penetrates the enemy lines with devastating charges before engaging in close combat with his mighty axe, Morglor ‘the Mangler’. His ‘Da Great Leader’ ability which activates when troops are in his vicinity, granting increased melee attack and defence.

Golgfag Maneater, The Mercenary (Ogre Kingdoms)

Golgfag Maneater, introduced in the spring volume of 1985’s The Citadel Journal, is a ravenously hungry Orgre mercenary. Ahead of the game, he “forged a reputation for the Ogres as fearsome killers for hire long before they became a relatively common sight in the mercenary armies around the world.”

His campaign features include:

Mercenary Contracts: Ever keen to lace his pocket with gold, Golgfag helps clients throughout the WARHAMMER World settle their warring disputes by taking on all wars they’re involved in and conducting hostile actions against their enemies for handsome rewards.
