Honkai Star Rail’s 2.7 update was released on December third and with it two new five-star characters arrived. Sunday will be released and available in the first half of the patch. The second half will feature Fugue, a character many players will recognize as the five-star version of Tingyun. Tingyun was a character introduced in the Xianzhou Luofu that guided the Trailblazer, before being presumably killed off. Sunday was a misguided character who acted as the antagonist for the Penacony arc.
Sunday is a five-star character with a combat type of Imaginary who follows the path of Harmony. This means that all damage dealt by Sunday will inflict Imaginary damage, but his combat role is that of a supporting character. Harmony characters are high value units in the game, as they are what allows the DPS characters to do higher damage. In Sunday’s case, his abilities focus on allowing a character and their summons to take immediate action while boosting their damage for a turn. If the character has a summon, such as Jing Yuan or Lingsha, the damage is increased for two turns. The immediate action aspect of his skill will not work with Harmony characters. Sunday’s Ultimate regenerates energy for a designated ally character while also making them and their summon “Beatified.” This Beatified ally will have their Crit Rate and Crit Damage boosted. This state lasts for three of Sunday’s turns. If his ultimate has been used and the Beatified state exists, Sunday will also regain a skill point after using his skill.
There are a few DPS characters that use summons, but this will likely increase. According to the 2.7 special program, the upcoming path of Remembrance will focus on summons. This means that Sunday will likely become a very versatile and vital part of upcoming Remembrance teams. Already, his abilities are extremely powerful for a Harmony character. For players that are planning to build Remembrance teams, or even buff characters that currently have summons, he is currently a high-value character to get. It would be a good use of the pulls to get him.

Fugue is a five-star character who uses Fire and follows the path of Nihility. Her kit focuses on break effects and toughness reduction. Her skill puts an ally into a state called “Torrid Scorch,” which lasts for three of her turns. Upon using her skill, Fugue’s basic attack becomes enhanced and she is unable to use her skill until the state ends. The ally that gains the Torrid Scorch state has increased break effect and deals toughness reduction upon attacking enemies. The toughness reduction only happens if the enemy has a different weakness type then the damage type of the attacking character. This effect cannot be stacked with other toughness reduction effects. Fugue’s ultimate deals fire damage to enemies and ignores the weakness type of all enemies to reduce toughness. Her passive ability allows allies to deal Super Break damage based upon 50% of the toughness reduction from the attack.
If players are focusing on building break attack characters, Fugue is a good replacement for the Harmony Trailblazer. She both deals damage but supports the primary DPS character as well. However, she is a niche character. Outside of break teams, she doesn’t perform as well. Her investment is relatively low, however, as you would want to focus on break effect stats on her relics.

Ultimately, it’s up to the players who they would prefer. Sunday is worth the investment, as Harmony characters can not only fit in a variety of teams but also due to the upcoming Remembrance characters. He provides a major buff for these characters and will be a vital member for their teams. Fugue is a niche character but the Harmony Trailblazer can replace her in those teams. Sunday, however, is not easily replaceable.
