The 2024 Bossies, the second annual presentation of the awards, has its nominees for Best First-Person Shooter.
The Bossies is an award show the Boss Rush Network hosts that is a celebration of video games and entertainment. The event is not beholden to announcements and trailers, rather votes come directly from the community.
The award show aims to feature games and entertainment that deserves recognition as the Boss Rush team highlights the best of the year, including content the industry may have overlooked.
Furthermore, the Boss Rush team has partnered many from around the industry who are big fans of gaming and entertainment. These include Indie developers, game publishers, and content creators.
The 2024 Bossies nominations for Best First-Person Shooter are:
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 by Raven Software and Trey Arch: The game’s single-player campaign is set during Operation Desert Storm and follows Troy Marshall and Frank Woods, rogue CIA operatives, as they combat paramilitary group Pantheon. This is the 21st Call of Duty game and the sixth under the Black Ops subgenre.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape by Bungie: The Final Shape is the eighth major expansion to Destiny 2, which released in 2017. The expansion follows the player’s Guardian as they hunt down the Witness after it passed through a portal on the surface of the celestial Traveler. The Witness seeks to craft the eponymous Final Shape.
Lethal Company by Zeekerss: This co-op survival horror game allows players to join The Company, who collect and sell scrap from various abandoned exomoon while avoiding the hostile environment. The goal is to reach the increasing profit quota until players can’t anymore. Along with making several indie games, Zeekerss makes video on Roblox.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl by GCS Game World: This first-person shooter marks the series return after a 15-year hiatus. Players can explore the open world of the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone as they explore a world filled with mutants, anomalies, and radiation. The game blends shooter, survival horror, and immersive sim into one game.
Wizordum by Emberheart Games: This shooter leans heavy into nostalgia as it uses a retro look in its gameplay. The game is set in a fantasy world where players must work through action and light puzzles to uncover the many secrets and loot in the world. This is the fifth title from Emberheart Games.
While voting has closed for the 2024 Bossies, you can still tune in on Thursday, Jan. 16 to see which first-person shooter takes home the award. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. EST with a pre-show while the main event begins at 9 p.m. EST. Catch the event on YouTube.
