Day three of PAX West was fantastic. The morning kicked off with a wonderful interview with the team at “Fun” & Games. Matt, Gen, and Sarah are truly some of the sweetest people on the planet, and it’s always a highlight to catch up with them.
While Ed wrapped up the interview and I edited upcoming content and I went with Stephanie and Andre to the Indie Incubator booth. There, we awarded our first Game of Show sticker to Ludocratic Games, developers of The Box is Alive. Their overwhelming excitement was pure magic, the exact reason we love giving out these awards and going to these events.
Next, we checked out Rays of Hope, an inventive beat ’em up structured like a child describing their favorite toys, set to a killer early-2000s soundtrack. Andre led a fantastic interview with the team. Afterward, we grabbed lunch with NerderSheWrote and other incredible creators to catch up and network.
Later, we headed over to the Summit Building to explore tabletop games, Magic: The Gathering cards, and vendor merch. Andre and I also connected with Epic Desk, a company collaborating directly with traditional artists to create custom desk mats without generative AI.
With just one day remaining, I’m excited to play more titles, hand out our final Game of the Show awards, and finish the week strong.

We are beyond the halfway point at PAX West; and yet, there’s still so much more to do. The highlight of my day included a demo of Spirit of Midnight by Good Badger. It is a point-and-click adventure game featuring an adorable cat and a musical score that will hypnotize you. Check out my coverage HERE.
During lunchtime, I was able to catch up with some amazing friends, Mackenzie and Dan. While we talk online, the experience means so much more in person. It was also nice to enjoy the company of friends and switch my work brain off for a little bit. For the remainder of the day, I strolled through the Indie Incubator and the TCG floor. I ended my day a little early in hopes to muster lots of energy for the last day of PAX tomorrow.

Day three of PAX West had me emotional. Full of laughs, love, and respect for these devs. Trust me, one of them almost had me in tears. I started out the day speaking to Fun’N’Games about their time here at PAX West and talked about the games they played and highly admired.
Next, I headed to the Indie Incubator talk to Daniel from Finish Line Games about their next game, Deadroot. Playing a snail in this 3D isometric adventure, the cute graphics and challenging enemies will have you engaged and prepared for battle. Our interview was fun and relaxing.
Later in the day, I got to check out Gobble, a 2D animated platformer with a wacky story about a human turning into a monster. He must use this odd bird as a scythe to fight enemies and unravel a bizarre story. It was gorgeous and very much a NIS title you won’t forget.
After having some chicken strips, I headed to the Hyatt to talk to Gary from Seismic Squirrel about some secret info to be revealed later on. We did touch on art and truly had one of the best one on one interview, here at the show. I just love art and the people create it through passion.
The one that had me close to tears was talking to the CEO of Tic Toc Games about Wrestle Story, his legendary and iconic work of being in the industry for twenty-five years, and learning that he worked at Wayforward and was around when Boy and His Blob for Wii came out. We really were emotional close to the end because of the things in gaming that make us feel.
I also got to play the recent release of Obakeidoro 2: Chase and Seek on Switch 2. We laughed and celebrated in both gameplay moments. I also got to talk to the director of the game, and it was such a blast to see him and talk to him again. The bigger surprise was him chasing me down to give me a bag, and I was honored. He didn’t have to, but it meant so much.
Last but not least, I got a small interview with Berzerk Studios, makers of Just Shapes and Beats, and got to talk with their marketing director. It was fun learning about their in-development title, Maximum Thunderness. Take Castle Crashers, Contra, and sprinkle in some roguelite mechanics, and you get high-octane action.
I just felt happy throughout the day, and with day four being the final experience, I will try to play as much as I can before I have to go back adulthood.

Today, my family came to visit me at PAX, so the reporting took a back seat, and I got to take in the expo as a fan. I spent time walking the tabletop games floor in the Summit building and enjoyed shopping for merch. Later, I took my fourteen-year-old to the Critical Reflex booth where they got to try “real life” versions of No, I’m Not a Human and Buckshot Roulette. It was awesome to see how the publisher brought these games to live in an augmented reality / table top way. And since my kid successfully finished the No, I’m Not a Human mini-game, they took home a limited edition pin. So fun!
Later, I stopped by the “Choose Your Own Adventure” books booth and picked up two of the classics from when I grew up. Seeing these brought backs so many good memories of reading them as a kid and being inspired to think creatively. After that I stopped by the FMV (full motion video) exhibit on the fourth floor of the Summit building and felt like I stepped into my childhood gaming experiences. I loved seeing the classic computer table complete with side speakers and a million-pound oak table. If you get a chance to visit this one, do check it out!
It was sad to end my time at PAX West this year, but I won’t be back tomorrow. I really loved this year’s expo and feel very proud of the team at Boss Rush Network and all that we accomplished.

Today was a break from work for me because I was too busy experiencing PAX with my best friends, who were kind enough to pay me a visit for a day. I thought giving myself a day to let PAX completely consume me honestly helped the time fly by real quick. I was still able to squeeze some work in by checking out Bandai Namco’s booth and playing the exclusive demo for Ace Combat 8. My priority today was making sure my friends had a good time at their first ever PAX and in turn, I began to appreciate just how lucky I am to be able to be enveloped in an industry I hold so dearly. Today was a spa day for me and I’m glad I was able to spend it right.
Andre
What can I say about day three other than it being a sad day (kind of!)? Considering this was my first ever PAX and first time meeting a lot of cool and longtime friends, it’s now come to an end. Going back to reality isn’t horrible, but I’ll miss this.
This weekend has taught me so much about myself, and I feel I’ve overcome a lot in my life. I did some smaller interviews today but managed to take it easy with some of the team and interact more with the convention.
All in all, I can say day three was a little slower yet still fun.
Stay tuned for more PAX West coverage! See you tomorrow.
