A remake of the light gun classic The House of the Dead was announced during today’s Indie World Showcase, with a release date slated for “later this year.”

The original game released in 1996 by Sega, and quickly became an arcade staple.

Developer Megapixel Studio is helming the title, with Forever Entertainment is listed as a co-publisher. Both have collaborated in creating the games Hollow, Agony, and Fear Effect: Sedna.

In addition, both previously worked with Sega in 2020’s Panzer Dragoon: Remake.
