Halo Infinite Narrative Designer Leaves 343 Industries

A little less than one month since the full release of Halo Infinite, lead narrative designer, Aaron Linde, has revealed that he’s leaving 343 Industries to pursue other opportunities in 2022.

Linde was responsible for most of the story in the game, including main and side missions, cutscenes, and The Banished backstory, including Grunt dialogue that has become some of the best content on social media as of late.

In a statement, Linde says he is ready for something new.

“Bittersweet news to report: I’m departing 343 Industries to pursue a new opportunity in 2022 … It was a terrifically difficult decision; Halo Infinite will remain one of the proudest achievements of my career for the rest of my life. I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.”

He continued, thanking “my dear colleagues at 343 for making the best game I’ve ever worked on.”

With 343 Industries stating that Halo Infinite is the next 10 years of the franchise, there will be many new and different voices lending their talents to write what comes next for Master Chief, The Weapon, and The Pilot. Halo Infinite‘s story was great but left a lot to be desired, which I imagine was designed intentionally that way. What are your thoughts on its story?
