Boss Rush Banter: When Will We Hear More About Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

It’s been more than two months since The Pokémon Company announced their ninth generation in the forms of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Fans are getting more and more excited for these new games, which are set to be released in late 2022, which is mot likely November based on past release schedule. But after two months of silence, are we due for more news soon, or will Pokémon continue to keep their cards close to their chest a little while longer?

Now, we still have seven months to go before the games are expected to come out, so the fact that we know so little shouldn’t be too alarming. Still, we know that we will eventually be getting more news before the release. But the question is: when?

The most obvious answer is sometime over summer. With E3 being cancelled, most gaming studios will most likely still be saving some big announcements for that general time slot. We’ll no doubt get a Nintendo Direct, and possibly even our own Pokémon Presents spilling the details of Scarlet and Violet.

Studios have been known, though, to randomly drop big gaming news seemingly out of nowhere, so we could learn more about these games tomorrow or next week. During the build up to Sword and Shield, there were multiple smaller announcements, each introducing a few details like new Pokémon or characters. It’s likely Pokémon will continue with this pattern in addition to a possible big announcement this summer.

However the Pokémon Company decides to release information, we know that it’s coming. When do you hope to hear more about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet? What kinds of announcements would you like to hear? Let us know below, or hop on over to the Boss Rush Discord!
