Marvel Studios has unveiled the first full trailer for the upcoming second season of Loki.
In the new trailer, Tom Hiddleston returns to the spotlight, reprising his role as the mischievous god Loki alongside the familiar face of Owen Wilson and the addition of Ke Huy Quan to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The spotlight shines on Quan’s new character, “OB,” as Loki and Mobius visit the Time Variance Authority’s Repairs and Advancements department, where OB quickly recognizes Loki’s predicament time-slipping when he unexpectedly glitches and vanishes.
OB does not have an answer, and from that point on, there is a multiversal mayhem. The narrative bounces between the past and the present, revealing additional mischief from Sylvie, a Loki variant played by Sophia Di Martino, an alleged rampage by Miss Minutes, and the escalating danger of world war.
According to the synopsis, the second season of Loki “promises new excitement as it thrusts the infamous God of Mischief into a new set of adventures with the TVA,” joined by friends and foes he has met along the way, including returning actors Eugene Cordero, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Rafael Casal, and Jonathan Majors.
Eric Martin, a recurring writer, will pen six episodes of Loki Season 2. Michael Waldron will continue to serve as the show’s creator, and episodes of the series will be directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, respectively. As executive producers for the second season, Hiddleston, Waldron, Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, and Kevin Feige all return.
According to Deadline, the reception was so great that the clip rapidly became the most popular online trailer release for Disney+ on a variety of platforms, with more than 80 million views to date.
Disney+ will begin offering Loki Season 2 for streaming on October 6.
