Wuthering Waves keeps finding ways to improve.
The open-world sci-fi gacha game from Kuro Games saw its 1.3 update released on Sept. 29, bringing multiple quality of life features with it. These were features that players had been asking for in past surveys. One of these included a feature that I had asked for in the past: allowing players to submit multiple batches of Echoes while using the Data Merge feature. This has made it much less time-consuming and easier to build characters. Other features include various optimizations to improve gameplay, a summary when using the skip button in stories, a button to allow players to see resource-rich areas for collection, controller support on mobile devices, and more.
Additionally, Kuro Games heard players’ complaints about gathering resources and materials, adding last-minute events to the 1.3 update. While this is only a patch for an ongoing problem, it is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, Kuro Games will continue to hear its players’ ongoing complaints about the time it takes to farm materials and resources and fix the issue in further updates. Considering they’ve continuously taken players’ feedback and implemented new features, I do believe Kuro Games will implement more QoL features in the future.

Outside of QoL changes, the story is also improving every update. The most recent update introduced us to the new character Shorekeeper and expanded more on the in-game lore. One of the main plots in the story is a mysterious catastrophe that goes by the name the Lament. Since the start of the game, the Lament has been a subject of intrigue. The only thing that players knew about the Lament was that it brings about destruction and caused Solaris-3 to be in its current state. In this update, players began to learn more about the Lament and what exactly it entails. To avoid too many spoilers, I will continue to leave it a mystery.
Rover’s past has also been a mystery to players, as Rover has amnesia and does not remember anything. In this update, some of Rover’s past was revealed but this left players with more questions than answers. Spoilers ahead. Rover was discovered to have not only created the Black Shores, but also was the one that created the Shorekeeper and Tethys System. The Tethys System is an Artificial Intelligence created to predict Laments and lead the Black Shores. However, this reveal came with more questions about Rover’s past, as the Shorekeeper said that Rover had erased their past self but didn’t expand upon this.
What do you think? Does Wuthering Waves get better every update? What quality of life features would you like to see added in the future? Let us know in the comments below or join the Boss Rush Discord to continue the conversation.
