Two and a Half Studios recently announced that they will be releasing a sequel to A Date With Death. The first game was about the relationship between a human and a grim reaper, and Boss Rush wrote an article reviewing the game. The new game A Date With Death 2: REMNANTS will change this setting.
Now, players have just recently been created and are training to become a grim reaper. However, the Underworld is not peaceful. Having recently gone through a rebellion, order is being reestablished, and grim reapers are on the verge of extinction. Players will be joined by 5012, their trainer, and their fellow trainee 0203. Although the mission is to become the best reaper possible and follow the rules by the book, players have a secret objective. They need to help recover what was lost. What was lost? Order? History? A soul? It’s an intriguing mission that only makes the game that much exciting.

Two and a Half Studios released a beautiful animation trailer for the game which reveals our two characters, 0203 and 5012. 5012, the mentor, is the reaper featured in purple in the animation whereas 0203 is the reaper featured in yellow. Both appear vastly different from the love interest in the first game, both physically and personality wise, which means a totally different love story is to unfold in their new game.

There hasn’t been an official release date announced, but Two and Half Studios intends to release the game sometime during 2026.
I greatly enjoyed the first game, so I’m excited to see what A Date With Death 2: REMNANTS will bring to the table. Will you be playing the game when it releases? What are your thoughts about a sequel in the Underworld? Share your thoughts in the comments below or in our Boss Rush Discord!
