Lynu Game Studio is a small but mighty indie studio who have been working on Cattia for about five years. Siyi explained that with today’s society always busy and exhausted, her team wanted to create a game where people can relax. They wanted to curate something that makes people feel warm and welcomed into a friendly gaming experience. At first, they anticipated that the majority of their player base would be females in their 20s and older; however, as they obtained feedback and demographic information, turns out that this type of game is enjoyed across a broad range of ages and genders.
Siyi continued that they aim to release Cattia later 2026 or early 2027 on mobile. It will be a free-to-play game that will include in-game purchases if a player so desires. There is a gacha component. She also noted that they’ve received feedback on considering a PC (Steam) release; however, that is still in discussion and not a confirmed plan just yet.

I then sat down to play a little Cattia! I immediately fell in love with the meta-aspect of it; the main cat, the Mayor, is demanding that I, the player, help spruce up the place or else the Big Tuna Ship will pass them by. There are three main components in Cattia: building landmarks, fulfilling orders, and editing buildings so everything is placed efficiently. I appreciated the efficiency aspect, which provided a little extra added challenge if you so choose. When it comes to fulfilling orders, you can assign a cat assistant, and some have attributes that can help complete your task. Some landmarks can produce important items including cabins, fish marts, iron houses, and bakeries.

After leveling up a bit, I unlocked the blueprint for the gacha building. It was so adorable, and I had so much fun seeing that I could get. The gacha building will give you more cats or blueprints for additional buildings. During my demo, I got a British Gray cat and a Cake blueprint. The Cake building improves nearby production buildings, and it affects buildings connected by road within a “three” distance. Its size was 2×2. I appreciated that layer of complexity, and it gave me a lot to think about its placement.
I can’t speak to the audio give that I was playing in a loud convention center with no headphones, but I will happily speak to the art design. You start off in a humble square plot of greenery. The environment is colorful but gentle, and the cat designs are so adorable! I mean, cats are already adorable, but let me tell you, the designs fit in perfectly with that cozy/sim feeling. Most buildings look like painted milk cartons or shaped to reflect with its own personality and function. The controls were easy to understand and pick up. It only took minutes for me to get into that flow-state and begin building my kitty empire! So far, there are over 30 cats and 50 building types.

Cattia is a lovely experience. It has that perfect blend of cute, cozy, and that little extra strategic component that makes it both addicting and rewarding. Stay tuned for continued coverage as Lynu Game Studio continues their development journey! Also, please feel free to check out their website.
And yes, you can pet the cats!
