Three films, theatrical shorts, several video games – now you can add an original TV Show to the Cars franchise as Disney just announced Cars on the Road, a new series following Owen Wilson’s Lightning McQueen and Larry the Cable Guy’s Mater as they head out on new adventures. Concept art released with the announcement shows our favorite vehicles getting into some crazy situations, including an encounter with some cool looking dinosaur cars.

While not the greatest franchise of all time, Cars 3 did redeem a lot of what Cars 2 got wrong, and having bite-sized, 22-minute episodes might be just what the franchise needs. Time will tell when Cars on the Road releases exclusively on Disney Plus in 2022.
