If there’s one thing American football fans are known for, it’s chaos. And with the latest expansion for Blood Bowl, you can live out that pre- or post-game chaos yourself. As Games Workshop describes it, “It’s a riot! Literally!”
Blood Bowl is a board game originally designed by Jervis Johnson in 1986. A loving parody of classic Warhammer Fantasy, it asks one all-important question: “What if all the Warhammer factions could work out their differences with a ‘friendly’ game of American football?”
During a battle, the Dwarfs and Orcs discovered the strange temple of the god Nuffle, and the rules that makes up his rites. After that – and discovering the strange, green grass-like surface the games are played on – the game of Blood Bowl spread throughout the world, replacing war…but not the violence.
The expansion box includes two game boards with matching dugouts and a 32 page rule book. It requires the base game rules to play.
Warhammer Community describes the new rules as much more chaotic.
A change of terrain comes with a change of rules too, the facades of market stalls and the dank walls of sewers can be used to ricochet the ball, while the heinous drains also provide effluent-filled hazards unique to Gutter Bowl. New Kick-Off Events inspired by the surroundings also ensure that no two games are ever the same and with far looser security, unruly fans and secret weapons can run amok.

Games Workshop no longer credits model designers and painters by name. This is unacceptable. As the creative force that keeps the company running, the artists responsible deserve full, clear, and public credit.
